Part II


The second part of the final act develops on Elsinore Castle and starts by Hamlet explaining his recent endeavor with Rosencrantz and Guildenstren and how he found Claudius's letter to the king Fortinbras and that ordered the death of Hamlet but he quickly changed his name for the name of his companions to save his own skin. Soon after Osric joins them by saying that the King has said that he bet on Hamlet to win a fencing match against Laertes. Horatio warned Hamlet by this eerie situation but Hamlet decides to do it and suddenly a Lord comes in asking for Hamlet to join the rest and fight against Laertes. Hamlet arrives and Claudius greets him and arms himself and gives Hamlet a poisoned cup of wine to drink from but he refuses to do so in the moment and starts the mfatch with Laertes during the exchange Laertes wounds Hamlet with his poisoned sword and Gertrude drinks form the poisoned wine and Hamlet and Laertes change swords during the duel and hamlet wounds Laertes with his own sword and from then and on they are practically dead men. As Gertrude lay dying Laertes confesses and apologizes to Hamlet and Hamlet in his dying moments, forces Claudius to drink the poisoned wine, then Horatio who was Hamlet's only friend, walks in and Hamlet bids him to tell the story of what happened there. Shortly after arrives Fortinbras to take the castle for himself.
